Woolworths Limited has been ranked as Australia’s leading graduate employer in the retail sector by the Top 100 Graduate Employers 2015 survey.
The survey, which was conducted by GradAustralia, ranked Woolworths as No.1 in retail and No.35 overall across all graduate employers in the country.
Woolworths Director of Human Resources, David Guise, said the survey reinforced Woolworths’ position as an employer of choice and one of the country’s leading graduate recruiters.
“As Australia’s second largest employer we are thrilled to be recognised as one of the most sought-after destinations for graduates,” Mr Guise said.
"Woolworths is a huge business spanning lots of brands, including Supermarkets, BIG W, Masters Home Improvement and Dan Murphy’s, and young talent that brings a fresh perspective is critical to our future.”
The Top 100 Graduate Employers survey ranks and evaluates the most desirable employers to work for as a university graduate, based on feedback from students across 32 Australian higher education institutions.
The Hon. Luke Hartsuyker MP, Assistant Minister for Employment, unveiled the Top 100 employer results and thanked employers for their focus on graduate development.
“It’s an opportunity to commend these organisations, which have made a commitment to developing talent in Australia from the ground up. The graduates of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and world class graduate programs like those being recognised play an important role in developing our future leaders.
“Woolworths creates thousands of employment opportunities for young Australians and being recognised as a leader in retail graduate recruitment highlights the career options provided by the company,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
Applications for Woolworths’ 2016 graduate recruitment round are open now and close on Sunday March 29.
There are 12 programs to choose from, including Procurement, Product Development and Quality Assurance, Logistics, Digital E-Commerce, Marketing and Finance.
