Comment from a Woolworths Group spokesperson:
We are pleased that the Fair Work Commission (FWC) has made interim orders today which prohibit the United Workers Union (UWU) from preventing access to our Melbourne South Regional Distribution Centre (MSRDC) and three other sites.
We plan to reopen MSRDC as soon as possible.
We’re sorry that this disruption has inconvenienced so many customers and we thank them for their understanding.
Today’s decision is a positive step for our team members who want to get back to work before Christmas. It also means we will be able to progressively boost stock levels across stores in Victoria.
We ask customers for their ongoing patience as stock flows will take some time to ramp back to normal levels.
Our Melbourne Fresh DC has continued to operate throughout this time and all our Victorian stores have an abundance of fresh produce and meat.
Customers should also see fuller shelves and more availability of key essential products such as drinks, nappies and toilet paper within the coming week.
We know this has been frustrating, and our focus is now on getting products back into stores ahead of Christmas.
