Wednesday, 31 January 2024: Following the successful launch of its Fairy Bread Hot Cross Bun, Woolworths has partnered with Lotus BiscoffⓇ to launch a new limited edition Lotus Biscoff Hot Cross Bun, which will be available in stores and online from today.

It’s the first time that Lotus Biscoff spread, which has seen a huge rise in popularity in recent years, will be featured in the Woolworths’ Easter Hot Cross Bun range, bringing together two favourites Australians love.

Following the success of the Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake which launched in the Woolworths bakery last year, the Biscoff-filled Hot Cross Bun is sure to fly off the shelves.

The Lotus Biscoff Hot Cross Bun is best enjoyed warmed up to ensure an oozy delicious centre, says Donald Keith, Hot Cross Bun expert and Woolworths Bakery Merchandise Manager.

“This new variety has been hard to keep secret. We love coming up with new flavours each Easter and I'm confident this one is going to delight our customers.”

At the end of last year, Woolworths released its new limited-edition Fairy Bread Hot Cross Bun along with announcing the return of the indulgent Cadbury Caramilk Hot Cross Bun and its whole traditional range.

Across the whole range of Hot Cross Buns, Woolworths customers bought 2 million buns in the first week alone. During Easter week, the supermarket expects to sell more than 12 million buns.

The Lotus Biscoff will be available for $5.50 (4-pack) for a limited time only in Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores from today.

The new bun will complement Woolworths’ wider Hot Cross Bun range, including the highly rated and award-winning traditional fruit bun. The traditional fruit bun (6-pack), fruitless (6-pack) and mini fruit (9-pack) buns are $4.00 per pack.
